Weeping Oil Filter Housing... possibly
I'm chasing the source of oil weepage. We ruled out the cap and cap o-ring as culprits. The source appears to be somewhere along the casting seam of the oil filter housing; though I haven't yet confirm my suspicion. My plan is to point a GoPro at the dry, clean seam then idle the engine until oil appears. If I confirm my hunch, onerous wrenching ensues--first at LKQ, and then in my garage. bleh.
This part looks like a bit of a job to replace. The Sonata service manual is somewhat lacking in detail on swapping it out.
Anyone have experience t'shooting this sort of issue; a/o swapping the oil filter housing assembly?
