hey redz.. you were in korea right??? see any vvt's out there.. i hear they are coming to the states for the batas... any news??

We have them here in Canada.
You guys should be getting some / should already have some at the dealership.
The new Elantras (04+) are cvvt as well as the 04+ 4cyl Tibs

It's nothing special.

Yeah, the CVVT. I saw them.

Let's put it this way, CNK's dumb ass is trying to turn it into a modification.

The main word in Korea is that if you have a Beta 2 with CVVT, you are screwed for engine mods. You can't open the Cvvt mechanism without f***in it up.

As for what it can do...

WORD is 3 to 4 extra HP, but it's mostly just to help out the fuel economy with how rich the Tibs run anyways.

yeah, rob's new tib has the cvvt mechanism on it. hyundais main use for it though was to improve fuel economy, and make the torque curve slightly smoother.

It has to be disabled because it doesn't allow seperate timing for the 2 cams, they are now chained together.
