Transmission Concerns
I recently replaced my base shifter bushings and my shifter with a sts from kfx. If i shift into second with the rpms above 3000 it grinds every time. No matter what it almost always grinds going into fifth. I was told it was probily the syncronizers. I fell like it might have something to do with the linkage mabey its an inacurate throw into second and fifth? the clutch is all the way in when it grings. any ideas?

If your old bushings had some slop, the linkage might have had enough "give" to allow the gears to feel as if they were engaging more smoothly. I'm guessing the skateboard wheel bearing mod for your transmission-end cable bushings would make it "worse."
The ultimate cure for bad synchros is a new or rebuilt transaxle. The very convincing band-aid is Redline MT-90, available from your local dealer or places online like Jegs and Summit Racing. Just be sure to get the right spec (GL4?)
