For the 30k service, the hardest thing on the list is checking the timing belt. I was looking today and it seemed at a glance that just unbolting it from the block and valve cover are all that's required to gain access. Am I missing something? I went to webtech and found how to get at the whole thing like if you want to replace it, but I just want to inspect it... can't I just pull off the top part of the cover (looks like 2 parts) or do I have to pull the pulleys and belts and all that jazz like it says on webtech?
(edit) oh yeah, I mean, if I can just expose part of the belt and inspect it, then rotate the engine and inspect the next segment of the belt, etc...(/edit)

Yes, you can just inspect it by removing the upper part of the timing belt cover.
Just make sure that you re-install it properly.
