Default is this true? (a/r graph)

For the past week or so whenever I pushed in my clutch pedal there was this loud grinding noise, I'd figure whatever it was it would last at least a week, well it didn't. I went to downshift and pass a car today and when I pushed in the clutch there was a loud bang, so I put the car in neutral and tried shifting into gear again, nothing, I couldn't even push the pedal down, so I pulled to the side of the road. I got out of the car and moved the linkage from the clutch solinoid and the tranny, then I could move the pedal down once. I'd try again and it was solid. I let the car cool for a bit, I was able to get the pedal down far enough to start the car in neutral, so then I had my friend push me and was able to get it into second and drive it home. I'm thinking it's the release bearing, but not exactly sure, I'm not to keen on clutches. The dealership has quoted $60 for the bearing, I'm waiting for a quote from my mechanic. The entire assembly from the dealer is actually more than any clutch on hyundai performance, so I'll probably end up getting the act 6 puck, any thoughts or suggestions.

well..
i do have a spec stage 3 clutch for sale.. and i have the stage 4 disk as well for sale

im not sure if it comes with the bearing.. i can check
if not i can include a used bearing (3K miles)

As far as your problem..

Sounds like you got more than one problem by what your describing..

Sounds excactly like what mine did 7 months ago and it was the bearing that died, so got a new clutch in.
Then this morning coming to work I noticed a scraping/grinding noise, so I pulled over. When I pushed the clutch in, the noise got worse and then the engine stopped.
The car is currently in the shop having the clutch & gearbox removed to see what has happened.
My thought is that a mounting bolt (clutch  flywheel) has come loose/out, then it's bounced around inside the housing (which now has some holes in it) until it got jammed.

Found the problem :!:
It's the retaining bolt for the shift select shaft. The barstard came out bounced around inside the clutch housing until it found a spot to get stuck.
Worst of the damage was a couple of holes in the housing, that have now been welded up. wink.gif
I should be back on the road by tomorrow. laugh.gif

ewww that sucks, hopefully it's just my throw out bearing and not anything else, funds are pretty tight right now. I'll know next week.

The tib is back on the road finally laugh.gif
After putting the clutch & box in & out a shite load of times (I lost count of how many) I found that the top of the clutch release shaft (where the release lever goes onto the spline) was bent. This meant that the release lever to far from the release cylinder & so the clutch didn't disengage.
Put a new shaft in today and she's back
