Some Engine Building Questions And A Couple Pics
ok i started to assemble the motor
got a couple of questions
first one is... did hyundai send me the wrong bearing?
take a look at this picture

you can see that the two outer mains have grooves in the lower bearings...
the middle main has a single oiling hole that matches with a hoke in the block
thats all find
the bearing set that i got from hyundai
it came with 4 smooth bearing surfaces for the 4 outer mains

so thats all done
my question is... the middle bearing cap bearing has another oil hole in it... but there is no oil hole in the cap

is this the right one or should it be smooth like the other four cap side bearings
ok next question is
the thrust bearings... there are two groves in each... like lil notches... do they face out or does the smooth side?
sorry if im just being paranoid

Don't think that hole will hurt anytihng. I can find out tomorrow about the hole and the thrust bearings. I work in a motor shop but I build the heads not the blocks so I will have to ask one of the motor builders.
Bearings with the groove go on the block making sure all oil holes line up. The bearing with the hole for the main cap is ok it will not make a difference. The thrust washers: flat side goes against the block/mains and the 2 grooves face the crank counter weight. Hope it helps good luck!

I think i have the same bearings as you got and will try to find a pic and post it.
BTW which bearings did you get Oversize or Stock ones for the crank.
I had to use 20 overbore size ones
Also i noticed you didnt notch the Cylinder bores for the Paurter Rods you got.
Make sure you get that done espically for you WHP Goal your aiming for!!!!!!!!

your crank bearings are allright
for the thrust washer
the side with the grooves goes toward the crank/flat side against the block
