Default slide in silencer

I've been "recommended" to have my exhaust silence more. And after i've just gotten the nice aggressive growl that i want. But hey I only get bitched at when i'm near my gf's place so......

i've seen these exhausts with the silencer in them (the little insert) and since most of them look pretty mutch the same, does anyone know where i can get a silencer insert for my MBRP exhaust? (y'know its that long tube and funnel looking side on it?)

Arospeed makes one for around $70. It's called the Bomb Muffler Silencer. I have an exhaust with one of those silenecers. They lower the sound, but not a whole lot. The pitch of the exhaust note goes up and you might hear the metal rattling back there. I'm not sure how large your exhaust tip is, but you should be able to find one to fit in there. Drilling might also be needed.

My apexi N1 came with a slide in silver, and it works GREAT! You have no idea, massive diference when its in and out. It looks like it cant be worth more then $5. The muffler on ebay was only $57 US. I would check for an apexi N1 and see if you can buy the silencer serperatly.

I have only read and heard postitive things about them. They key is how they are installed. They MUST be WELDED into the exhaust right after the header collector. You can't put them in the end of the tailpipe and expect them to work.

No, they really do suck. They were were welded and tested on open headers. Not a full exhaust. They are too restrictive and makes your complete exhaust setup a waste of money. I remember someone tried this product and posted the results on teamsr. He didn't seem happy at all.

This is the old TSR forum. Do a search, you'll only find folks reccomending them.

I did the search.
It was Koreandude who tried it out for us. Cheuk even agreed that they were probably not a good idea on our cars. Something that large inserted into the exhaust path will give a noticeable amount of restriction.
