Before i bought my tib i test drove a celica and it had a very short short shifter, practly a nub and i loved it. The top of the knob was literaly 2 inches above the console. Anyone know where i can get one for my 01 tib?
I dont have the cash for one now and is why this isnt in the wanted section.

I think the shortest I have seen other than hack jobs people did is the Ark Performance one. I know you say you do not have the money now, maybe we will still have some left in the group buy when you can buy one.

Why would you want to make it that short to begin with? Thats a safety hazard at that point.

.. nah, cuz then it won't fit teh boot right. if you take a blowtorch, you can mold it. Another idea is to chop and reweld.

But none of those is a short shifter. They just make your Shifter SHORTER. There IS A DIFFERENCE.

i assume that with an acctual short shifter, you get more precise shifts and less chance of scratching a gear

Well, I wasn't more precise because this comes up ALL the time.

Short Shifter = Shifter designed with different geometry than the stock one, shortening the HEIGHT of the shift knob AND the throw of the shift. So if it took you 6 inches to move from 1st to 2nd before, the average short shifter reduces by about 30%, so it'll take you about 4 inches to shift now.

Shorter Shifter = Stock shifter with a lower knob. = Same THROW, and harder to shift, loss of leverage.
