Default Shifting into 3rd...

Ok, Im gunna try and keep this short. While I accelerate hard, my 1-2 shift is fine, but my 2-3 shift sometimes just WILL NOT go. It only happens at high rpms and yes Im 100% sure the clutch is in all the way.

If i shift very slowly it doesnt happen. what is does is it feels like it gets gated off or something... its like it hit a wall right before it would go into gear, and as long as i put pressure on it, even if i use a ton of strenght, it will not budge (like i could hold it there all day even as i slow down and it will just sit there against this "wall). as soon as i take pressure off and try again, it will slide right in no problem. It doesnt grind at all either, it just stops! I can figure out what it is. Like i said, only at high rpms and probably about 85% of the time. Im just cant figure it out! any ideas?

Search for "Shifting into Second" or 2nd. Don't remember which.

there was a long discussion about the possible causes for shifting problems in that thread, along with potential fixes.

yeah i read that.... but if you read my post, its completely different problems. theres wont shift without GRINDING. mine DOES NOT grind. at all. just plain stops as if something was in the way of the shifter but theres not! also only about probably 4500-5000rpms

when shifting to 3rd try to move shifter a bit to the right (or to the left) before shifting to 3rd gear.

If it makes shifting easier then I think you should adjust shifter (there are two cables - adjust one that moves shifter left-right).

Have you tried any of the things mentioned in that thread?? The solutions presented there have taken care of more than just the 1-2 shift.

Just becuase its not "GRINDING" does not mean that they wont fix it.

But, yeah, like dmitry said 1st thing to do is adjust your cables.

Then try the things mentioned in the thread that you seem to have already dismissed as being possible fixes.

What about into 5th?? Same deal?? If it sometimes does it in 5th too, then 10:1 odds it's a cable adjustment issue. If not I would say that maybe some of the linkage is messed up.

I can't think of too many more things it could be.

^^^ i havent really noticed it going into 5th, but then again, there arent too many times where im up above 5000 rpms shifting from fourth. Ill probably try the cable adjustment, but will this then mess up (or at least make it different) how it goes into 2nd and 4th now? and i am planning on doing the stuff in that thread too, but i just didnt think those problems would be connected... i think if you drove it youd maybe agree. but who knows, that stuff is worth a try too!

yea.. there are not too many reasons you would want to quickly shift from fourth to fifth.. by the time you are there, you are already way above the arrest me speeds.
