you can put almost anything in any engine comp you just need to be ready to shell out the cash to do all the mods to the car!

engine, trans mnts, computer engine mnts, wireing, welding cutting as you casee all kinds of stuff but like I said if you have the cash and the time anything is possible!

save your self the headache and build the crap out of the engine you have you will be just as happy with it and have less headaches to go with it!

Good points, but Doylie wants something completely different, not to mention a rotory... *Sigh*

Size wise, will it fit?

First off what I think you'd need are...

Engine
Wiring Harness
ECU
Custom Motor Mounts
Tranny from matching RX-7
Driveshafts
...

Hmm... That's all I can think of.

I think it depends on the engine, I was told once that to swap your engine with a Skyline, you have to install the engine sideways or something like that? So it'd take a lot of cutting or molding, i have no idea how much it would cost but maybe some of the top guns would....

Actually, you probably have a point--it would be cheaper to just buy an old RX-7 and have a tiburon body kit made than to try to re-fabricate the engine mounts, transmission, figure out how the hell you're going to get power to the rear axles of the tib...

Heh, of course if you went to an RX-7 specialty shop and asked them to work on a tib body kit you'd be laughed into the ground

i want to do it b/c i love the rotary engine and i think it has tons of potental and i love the way my tib looks
my brother has the rx-7 up in omaha were i am from and said i could have the engine out of it and what ever i needed off of the car
why don't i just fix up the rx-7 and drive it around? b/c i don't like the way they look and i would rather be driving my tibby
so i have the engine tranny and so on how hard would it be to put it in my tib?????

I am telling you that it can be done but it will be VERY HARD to do this swap! You are looking at somewhere between 6 mon to a year to do this swap!!
and that means that you are mechanicaly inclined and have access to cutters, welders, and the brains to figure the whole swap out! plus any regular tools for the job too and being able to live without your car that long!
I agree with you about the 7 engine they are great but like I said earlier you better have some cash ready to do this!!! GOOD LUCK!!
