Default running rich or CLEAN?!?! WTF!?!?!

Ok...
i was at fontana on saturday

i was in a rush so i can get atleast run ONCE before they closed... i ran into some problems before (nothing engine related)

I managed to switch my plugs for some nice NEW 1 degree colder NGK's v power plugs (nitrous)

Well... i didnt get to run

So **** it... i drove home and i didnt even bother to switch back to stock plugs (regular v powers)

So after 70-100 miles... i switch them back

My findings
cylender 1
Circle thing was black (like it should with a colder plug)
Cyl 2
Circle thing was black... and a bit moist
cyl 3
BRAND SPANKING NEW... it was even sparkling more than my chromies in the sun
cyl 4
BRAND SPANKING NEW

I know cyl 3 & 4 where sparking since the tip of the plug was white
(still burning oil due to rings not settling in yet)

Engine has 1100 miles on it

I looked at my other plugs that ive been using since day one

1-2 some carbon
3-4 A lot cleaner than 1-2

SO WTF>!>!>!>

Could my injectors be dirty?

I did have them dipped in b12 during the engine swap for about a day
I only had 1 side dipped in though (side that points into the engine)

Am i not getting sparks?

WTF!?!?!?!?!

BTW at full throttle my Venom a/f says in running rich

The coils are paired 1/4 and 2/3, so it wouldn't be a bad coil. Time to send the injectors off to RC Engineering, spend the $96 and have them clean and flowbench all four just to make sure.

If it happened on the old motor as well as the new one, then it's probably something in the old hardware.

Red thats the thing

In my old engine i had carbon rings all the time... even with nitrous

ON ALL 4

Im guessing that the B12 chem stuff screwed things up

Since i only had one part of the injector dipped... maybe the "junk" began to collect

But i believe the b12 dissolves that stuff... so that would be a problem...

Oh well
Im checking my plugs tonight

These are clean and will have 100 miles on them
and they are Regular v powers

Could it also be the wires?!!?!

Maybe 3 & 4 are fine... and 1 2 are just not sparking???
Oh wait... i just switched the wires with some new stock ones... although they are a tight fit on the new beta

I think it will be cheaper just to buy 2 used injectors... turbo goes in a month along with 550cc NEW injectors

Howabout instead of buying new ones, just switch the existing ones around. If you flip the injectors around so that 1/2 are now on 3/4, then (supposedly) the problem should follow the bad parts.

Unless of course the injectors aren't your problem smile.gif

By 1100 miles the rings should have fully seated. Get the engine warm and do a static compression test to see if there are any problems on the 1 and 2 cylinders.

Im planning on doing a full diagnostic on tuesday

Im thinking 3 & 4 are my problems

im thinking when i cleaned the injectors all the gunk went to the bottom (which is the part that points into the cyl)

Ill check

thanx red

Im curious... im going to pull my plugs when i get out of work and see what they look like after 75 miles
Hopefully it was just the gapping or something on the plugs

BTW isnt there an Injector failure CEL?>?>?>

I havent gotten one... so maybe its not as bad as im thinking it is

BTW... could it also be that my wires are bad???

They are new... but they are stock hyundai wires

So they could be faulty

I guess i wont know until tonight

Try checking the wire resistance to see, but i'm not sure what is the acceptable Ohm range is per wire....
