Default HRA?

Hey Everyone

Just recently I started to notice that my car has been riding a little more rough then it usually does. All my mods like lower springs and rims have been installed for over 6 months so I don't think they are affecting it. I mainly notice that the steering wheel shakes more when I am driving especially when I am on the freeway. Would it possibly be that I need a wheel alignment? I had one done about 6 months ago and I don't want to put another 50 bucks down for nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Hit any big pot holes lately? Wheels not mounted and balanced correctly?
if not, ... then maybe your wheel bearings are starting to go?

what do you think guys?

It could even be too much air in the tires.

Default Help with deciding about car alarm

If you have hit a large hole/bump/curb lately, then I would have the allingment checked. Most places will check it for cheep and charge full price if it actually needs adjusted.

Does your car pull to one side when driving at higher speeds?

find a place that will do a free alignment check, or a CHEAP one. Check the tire pressure. Does it have any difference when braking? Check your rotors, I've heard vibration can be a sign of warped rotors.

At slow speeds, (10-15 MPH) on an empty road, try braking with the hands off the steering wheel, see if the car starts to pull to one side. This could show that your alignment is messed up, but it won't always show it. Your wheels might actually be straight at that time.

I have the same problem from time to time.... Your wheels just need to be balanced. That should fix it.

Thanks Guys

I am due for an oil change soon so I will probably get my tires balanced and see how that goes. If that does change much, then I am going to check for a cheap alignment place to see if I need it.

I put up a post like this a couple of months ago and had everything checked out. Meanig I had the bearings inspected, axels, tie rods, and still had the problem. I took my car to get the oil changed last Saturday and they told me that 2 of my tires where 10lbs over the recommened specs. and guess what. I barely feel any shaking anymore. So like Arch93086 said, check your tire pressure.

Lolo: Do you have aftermarket rims with tires or do you have stock? I have 17" rims with low pro tires.

Redz: No, I haven't received the sills. Do you have a tracking number?
