Default replacing tps

ok, i have a 5 speed tib and a dae sung tps. I know that it affects the auto trans and need to replace it. Does it also affect the manual trans? If so, and if the dealer don't want to replace it, how much will I have to pay for one and replace it myself? Is is just a plug-in?

I was the one that posted the TSB on the Dae Sung TPS and I would imagine it would also count for the 5 speed also. They both use the same TPS. It is a rather simple operation to replace. Couple of screw and remove and reinstall and plug the new one in.

Contact your dealer. Let them know that you are aware of the TSB on the DaeSung TPS issue on the automatics, and ask if they will replace your TPS under the same TSB, even though you are a 5 speed. If not, www.stcharlesauto.com has them at a 15% discount.

Oh, and be extremely gentle with those TPS screws. Mine shredded themselves when I tried to get them out. Use some WD-40 or liquid wrench around the base of the screw (or the backside if you can see it). That should help get the old one off.

good luck,
ac

I had some 'issues' with my TPS. So replacing it with a "keifco" TPS solved my problems.

www.stcharlesauto.com

They sell Hyundai OEM parts at 15% off. A new TPS cost me $45 with shipping if I remember right.
