Speedo gauges and tachometers are off by certain percentages from the factory, and get worse the faster you go/higher you tach it up. Everyone has a fuel cut, everyone has a rev limiter.

yes^^

monoxie, how can you say you don't have a fuel cut and then say that you've never redlined 5th? why don't you go TRY to redline in 5th and THEN tell me if there's a fuel cut or not... smile.gif

^^ Fuel cut for 5th is @ 6k I believe, so a lil before redline. Not that I've ever been there, I don't find thrashing on 5th gear to be a good idea for my motor or my transmisson.

what are you going to do when you hit a wopping 130mph or 135mph when you top out the gearing in the beta, and then blow the transmission if your boosted in 5th gear. i know it revs almost to redline, whats the point of going the extra 200rpms?

how bout stay within legal speeds and you wont have to worry about going 5mph faster than what our cars cut off at.

im not saying i dont speed or bust 100 sometimes passing on the highway, or getting on an on ramp, but theres ABSOLUTELY NO POINT to need to go faster than what it cuts off at..

Big ol’ quote but anyways Thank you. As a 21yo paying outrageous rates for longer than ive been an adult, and having only gotten my car 2 days ago, I needed to read this. Thank you.

Now as for alternatives that dont put risk on the car exploding….??
