My stock clutch just gave out (2000 tiburon) so I'm looking to buy a replacement/upgrade. I can't afford to spend $800 (my budget is more around $300-400) for the VHR clutch system sold at kspec. I called Autozone and they have a clutch kit for a bit under $200. I checked out ebay, which has a few OEM clutch systems for sale around $80-90 and a XTD racing clutch system for $300 (not sure about quality). I looked around a bit more on the web and found http://www.specclutch.com/specMain.html and http://www.clutchcityonline.com/, which has spec clutches for cheaper than the spec clutch website and also sells ACT clutch systems.

I am looking for comments/suggestions to help in my buying decision - any help is much appreciated.

The one Autozone has is pretty much a stock kit. You can look on Ebay and such and find something probably.

You could also PM Hotrod and tell him you want his clutch, so he can get the VHR kit.

LOL

Stay away from Spec clutches, they are crap.

The other guys will know more.

Welcome to the fold...

well, if you dont have many mods...or don't paln on doing all that much to your tib in say the next 1 to 1-1/2 years....just buy the stock clutch off ebay....

If you plan an going with boost (either kind) i'd have to recommend either the VHR or a clutchmasters kit... and the reason the VHR kit is so expensive is b/c it includes a flywheel too....

just remember.. when you do the clutch, you should resurface the flywheel anyway... so the cost of a new (and lighter) flywheel is semi-taken care of.
