Default Re: Sparco Seat Brackets

well my transmission hasn't had a 3rd for quite some time now. The syncro is completely gone so I'm going to either have to replace it or repair. Well my uncle can get one from a junkyard for me for 600, or I could repair this one. So I'm wondering if its worth it to try to repair mine, then i could even beef it up a bit and wouldn't have to worry about getting a junkyard dud.

thanks for the input

oh, btw the junkyard one would have a 10k mile, 1 year warranty so thats at least a little testing period.

I would call some shops to find out how much it would cost to rebuild your tranny.

checked already, they wanted like 1000 plus... oh and alex thanks for the site. I should have explained more though. It was like 450 for the tranny, 50 for the warranty, and 100 for delivery to the shop my uncle owns (the yard is like an hour or two away).

and in the original message it might have been a bit confusing as well. the tranny had like 17k miles. And the warranty would be for 10k miles or a year.

Anyways I was just wondering if anyone had rebuilt one of these and if it would be even worth the effort or if I should just buy the replacement.

Thanks alot,

dang, forgot that part too. Already tried that, it's a rebuilt tib... soo no warranty. The guy that owned it before me thrashed the tranny, the clutch went out at 20k miles, only about 8k after I bought it. sycro lasted till about 40k, I'm at 55k now (long time with no 3rd gear...!!)
