I went and checked the plugs today, they all look great, and I know they have less than 10K on them, prolly less than 3K.

I'm going to try the plug wires now, then the drivers seat is coming out and I'm gonna get on my back to see if I can repair any of that wiring mess down there.

UPDATE!

Faithofadragon came by, we did the following.

1. Swapped Coilpacks with mine. No fix.

2. Swapped Crank Position Sensor with mine. No fix.

3. Lost several bolts and nuts, found most of them. LOL No fix.

4. Sparkplug Wires, no fix, but they look GREAT.

After taking the drivers seat out, and looking at the ECU harness, it's worse than I thought. It's horrible to be honest with you. I'm truly sad. We will be trying to do multimeter testing on the sensors this week, and patch up what we can in the dash area, but I really could use a new ECU harness with about 2 feet of cable included.

im thinkin of just cuttin the dam harness and remaking it its so bad under there

BTW, I just went and started looking at some of the wiring diagrams for the ECU Faith, half of the wires that are all f***ed up are EXACTLY WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM.

Grey = TPS SIGNAL WIRE.

There are a few others, but that one is the kicker, and that is one of the absolutely worst ones.

fix the wires in your workbench

then recrimp everythin back in i sware there has got to be at least 15 friggin messed up wires under there

got wire near the ecu connector and in the harness until the wire is "good"
solder in a new piece of wire, use shrink tubing over to isolate it,repeat process for other wires

no need to change the whole harnessm
does this car had an safc,rev/speed meter,smt-6 or something like that before?

btw soldering and shrink tubing beats crimping cool.gif

That's what I'm thinking. Or a version of it. I'd like to cut out what's down there now, as far away from the ECU as possible to get as many of the damaged sections of wire out of there as we can. Then, with a NEW harness connector and a long pig tail of extra harness, prep and tin the ends of the wire on the bench and put shring tubing on all of it and push them down the wire. Get back in, without connecting the ECU, and re solder each and every one of the wires, then slide the shrink tubing over them, one at a time, and seal them up for good.

Yeah, but you were lied to. I never got to get under the dash man. You had told me when you had the problems that all of the wires were soldered in place for the SAFC, there are NO solder points down there at all, no solder anywhere on those wires. As for what you told me last night about the guys at Hyundai repairing it all for you, it didn't happen. They put some electrical tape on a few of the splice points, but that's it. There is no heat shrink on 90% of the damage down there, and they didn't repair any of the splices, they just wrapped it in place. That's why you had the problems, the TPS being bad was part of it, but the 'covered up' wire damage was the rest. BTW, you bought the Nissan first, ya noob.

Me neither. Now that we know what the problem SHOULD be.

And if THIS dash comes off, it's going back on. LOL

You gotta see it. There is one wire cut about 3 inches from the ECU, and it's got a bullet connector done on both ends of it. Why? No clue. There's several other wires with big gashes in them from someone trying to tap the wires with the wrong size wire tap. There's also several wires only holding on by 2 or 3 single strands of copper, in several places. To fix this right, we are going to have to do it this way. As for the SAFC 2, yes, I put in the first post it's had 2 of them in there before I bought it.

Now I just gotta find a harness.

Faith, you have a soldering iron? I've got some solder.
