265 At the wheels out of a 1.6!?
You must have had a lot of work done to that baby, no way was it a bolt on solution like the alpine system for the 2.0L |

mailto:random00@mindspring.comrandom00@mindspring.com</A> </div> Random i also changed the engine and i placed the 2.0ltrs one.The mods are: 1)fixing of cylinderhead(polishing) 2)New pistons 3)T3,5 Garett turbine 4)Huge intercooler 5)Handmade header for the turbine 6)Reprogrammed ECU 7)Two extra beks(finally six all now) 8)Extra small ECU(for the two extra beks) 9)K+N big air filter 10)INOX pipings 11)Bigger fuel pump 12)full new exhaust 13)Pressure set at 0.9bar! 14)gaskets,pressuremeters etc. The mechanic told me that if we raise the pressure at 1.1bar tibby will produce over 300hp!!! After the dyno-measurement the computer gave us:249,8 HP at 5800rpm. Top speed around 235-240kms from still position i cover the 400meters at 14.2sec!!! I can sure debate now with imprezas, and all the other road versions of street WRC´s. |
turboman you are ....THE MAN!!! God i love BOOST!! 265HP man that is hot. i need to dump my 1.8 and get 2.0 for my project. :D
|
sorry i forgot...
do you have any pics. just would like to see what 265HP engine bay looks like these days. |
Hey man congratulations!!!!!, that is what I was doing bebore my mechanic crashed by Tibby, It will have to wait for 3 weeks to continue but the Zefiro Kit will be on. You are running 13.2 psi. I think you can go a bit higher 1 bar. You can water cool or meth cooling and wrapping. I dont know reading Randoms idea to water mist the intercooler. Hope you enjoy your bullet!!! Good job!!!! Hey hope you did not forget your brakes!!!!

Congrads on the mods!!! you might want to change your name to Goku now that your tib has gone Super Saiyan!!! smile.gif Your pics are going to be off the Hook!!!

what exactly is the beks
7)Two extra beks(finally six all now) 8)Extra small ECU(for the two extra beks) 151 |
Guessing there are four injectors stock, he added two = 6... And to add two more, you'd need an alternate ECU to run them (MFI fuel controller, like what Alpine provides with their kits)
Turboman, you have indeed done a good job. A 2.0L motor on better pistons and 0.9bar makes sense building 250+ horsepower. Now just don't break your transmission! :D Congrats on the buildup, I've still got quite a few more months ahead before mine is fully ready to tackle serious boost smile.gif -Red- |
Hey not to rack your brain but how much do you think it finally cost you all together to build such a four banger monster.
|
that is some great HP...but only 6.7 sec 0-60??? I don't want to be a party pooper but that doesn't come close to a Subaru WRX...it only takes it 5.8 sec to get to 60 with only 225 hp. Maybe you just need to practice a little to get a better time. 6.7 sec is what an RSX-S is doing. You can do better...

You have to remember, a WRX is an all wheel drive vehicle. I would hope it would have a faster 0-60 time.
|
Kidd is right, the WRX has twice the amount of traction (at minimum) than our cars do, and as such can get VERY fast launches. I've seen a person in an almost-stock WRX get 1.7 second 60 foot times on stock tires and stock clutch; doing a 1.7 second 60 foot time in a front wheel drive ALWAYS requires slicks, almost always requires suspension and clutch work, and usually also requires more horsepower.
As for how much the motor cost, I'm kinda curious too. I have solid numbers on what MINE cost, but I have no solid power numbers nor will I for quite some time. -Red- |
