Ok so in my other thread I was trying to figure out if my radiator was the problem or the water pump, I checked the wingnut for the weep hole, and it was tight. I did not drive the car today, but it still leaked fluid? If the car is not running and liquid is still coming out does that sound more like the radiator or water pump.

 

That sounds like the radiator, put a couple pans under your engine in various locations so you can pinpoint the leak.

 

ok one more thing, when I was in the accident she hit my front on the side that it is leaking from my front bar that the bumper connects to is bent down. Is it possible that even though it happened 5 months ago, the crack just now got big enough to start a leak? Like I dont know maybe the crack was a heirline fracture and somehow opened up more?

 

yes.

look at where the leak is coming from. our engine bays are definitely roomy enough to spot something like this pretty easily.

 

Anything's possible really, you most likely just got lucky and maybe there was pressure on the crack or it just now expanded and contracted enough to leak.

 

I tried to locate the actual slice in the radiator, but was unable to. I just know that it leaks fairly quickly. About how much does a new radiator cost and how hard is it to put in?

 

its super simple, and if you go to a junkyard like i did youll only have to pay like 20-30 bucks.

Drain the fluid, remove hoses, unbolt slide out.

New radiator in, attach hoses, bolt down add water/coolant mixture, burp (search if you dont know what that is). Watch temp level for a few days and keep overflow tank full

 

so your radiator is leaking for sure.. then why would you suspect a water pump!?!?

yeah, radiator replacement is about the easiest thing you can do on a tib.

 

well I didnt know if it was the water pump, because I just found out it was leaking when the car was off. Before I didnt know because I was trying to figure out the problem with the car running

 

but if it was leaking... there would be coolant either A) on, by radiator or B) 2 feet away at the water pump.
