quick stupid question

the little rubber thingies that connect the CAI together? what are they called?

i'm removing my bypass valve and need a replacement.

thankx!

one4k4 Jul 14, 2002 02:44 AM

I'd assume they're called many things. Flanges, Grommets, *little rubber things*.. Or did you mean gaskets?

Random Jul 14, 2002 03:14 AM

silocone connectors.

Veniston Jul 14, 2002 03:38 AM

Up here in hicksville there aren't any places that sell them alone. Had to use black rubber plumbing connectors for my intake, but I'm afraid of them decaying in the heat. Let me know if you find a good price for them online, or I may even pay to have them mailed wink

Also try www.mhptuning.com call them up though. Tehy don't have them listed online but they do sell them seperately. I think they are about $7 a piece give or take a buck. THey have red, yellow or blue.

I have one more...

Hose Techniques

This guy is very helpful, but they are on the pricey side.

Curtas Jul 15, 2002 04:15 AM

Another option is to get nitrile coolant hoses from a machine supply store. They usually come in sizes ranging from 1.5* ID to 4* ID. They can be pressure rated to several atmospheres, and some are heat and hydrocarbon resistant. Not too expensive, either.

The lack of availability around here has led me to these.

good luck,
ac
