Default Problems

When i accelerate a loud humming noise starts..sounds like it's comeing from behind me..a few weeks ago..someone said something about the bearings are going..something to that affect...

and when im at high speeds a loud noise comes about....just a loud noise under my hood..

any ideas

Sounds like it could be the rear wheel bearings, i just had mine replaced and they made a horrible screaching grinding noise. As for the high speed noise, who knows. this is why we have mechanics. bring your car someplace where they can LOOK at it and SEE or HEAR what is wrong, NO ONE can diagnose your car over the phone, internet, etc. So don't go run and get wheel bearings because two people said it could be that, it could be the brakes or something else? who knows. just get it checked out. actually when i was driving away from a transmission shop one of the mechanics said something about the bearing and the high pitch noise.

i wasnt paying to much attention to it at the time...

How much was it for u to get it replaced

If its a hub bearing, get it replaced as soon as possible because those things will cease up, and then we are talking catastrophic failure...which could cost you. If your wheel ceases up in motion, or heaven forbid while on the highway, you know what would happen...
