I don't recall any wires runnning to the power steering. It would make it very difficult to drive your car without the power steering pump. Your best bet is to remove it and paint it black. It will be less noticable then.

There are wires but not near the pump. Its the hoses going to the pump and pump its self. Want the bay completly clean.

You can remove it and do a full bleed of the system. Remove all tubes running to it. But be prepared to have to do 5, 6,7.. point turns in the parking lot. I wouldn't recommend it since you're car is going to be unsafe to drive at speeds below 25mph (i.e. the steering will be ridiculous).

Fabricate some panels to cover everything in the engine bay besides the valve cover and top of the head (like they do in newer cars today), if you're worried about messy looks. Then you can paint all the panels one flat color and have a clean bay..

I removed my powersteering and dont miss it, but everybody else who tries to drive my car says its really hard to steer, personally i think its just something you get used to, as long as you have some meat on your bones. lol

As far as a write up, i just unbolted it, removed the belts and removed the lines and the tank, not really too hard,

But if this is your daily driver and you are always doing things like holding a cup or food or a phone or something in one hand and steering with another, it may not be a good idea

really its a race mod, not an aesthetics mod, if your just looking for a clean look just clean it up and make sure it looks good, maybe paint the tank black to hide it

Mine is removed also, and if your going to do it make sure you either loop the lines with fluid still in the system or buy some sort of power steering elimination kit that uses a motorcycle brake reservoir to hold the fluid. Cause if you simply drain all the power steering fluid the rack will end up eating itself.
