I did everything right but the metal clip attached to the spark plug broke. Its still attached to the plug but disatached itself from the boot. Its so damn cheap. Hoping the clip would somehow still have a connection I started the engine and its running fine on all 4.
Is it safe?

huh, If I'm reading that right you need to replace the wires soon. might as well do the plugs as well.
did you use the anti seeze and boot protector stuff. It's a good idea.

I was checking the plugs, and upon taking the boot out the metal part that hooks to the plug tore off from the inside of the boot but is still attached to the plug. Basically I F it up and will have to use tongs to pull out the stupid clip, but right now I just pushed the boot back down on it.
I used seize and grease now but it that 1 cylinder didn't have it from a previous mechanic hence why it tore.
Reason I'm asking is because its my dads car and were in Florida.

I would not drive anywhere with it like that. Just replace the spark plug wires. You don't want to be driving a long distance on three cylinders and with the connector broken it's probably going to happen sooner rather than later.

thanks. I have the boots back home and want to save money... The boot is pressed down by the plug cover. What happens when it does run on 3 cylinders?
Anyone know of a special tool I can use to pull the clip back out? Tongs barely fit...

I believe you can repair them temporarily if you can't find a set of wires. Just pull the spark plug to remove the metal clip, pull the wire through the boot a little, and re-clamp the terminal on the end of the wire. That is, if the spark plug wires on tiburons can do that. I know I've done it a number of times on my other cars, but this one's got that long boot... check it and see.

Your check engine light goes to a rave and your car will have little power and sputter. Drivable? Yes. Recommended, NO! because your are dumping raw fuel air mixture into your cat with hot exhaust from the 3 other cylinders. Drive like that for long and a quick change of wires turns into an expensive replacement CAT converter. Replace the wire ASAP. I limped my car to work one day. Longest 10-15 minutes of my life as i though my car blew up right then and there.
