Default Pistons from other cars?

I found a lot of cars (gasolin and diesel) with the same bore (82 mm) as Tib has.

Maybe we could find pistons from another car that will fit and change compression ratio?
Diesel engines have very high compression ratio (18:1-21:1) so maybe their pistons can endure high boost? (on our engines with desired CR, e.g. 8,5:1)

For example - Lancia have gasolin and diesel motors with 82mm bore.

um no
there are no way our blocks can handle that kind of compression plus adding boost diesel pistions are also shapped differently than our pistons plus the oilers are different

also diesel fuel is actually ignited by the compression there is no actual like spark plugs or ignition system

I mean - if diesel pistons can handle 20:1 CR so it possibly would handle high boost with 8,5:1 CR.

We can try to find pistons (diesel or gasolin) with needed compression height ( 8:5 CR )

Like faith said, diesel's run totally different. Just get ones from the companies he suggested. Pistons are not things you want to cheap out on.

Finding pistons that work, that aren't aged too much, and are going to be able to take the power from boost really would be too much. Get cast Tigerlillies for 350.

so, what you are looking for is a good high strength piston for going turbo. because of the differences in rod length, wrist pin location, rings, valve pocket location, and even the differences in bore and the bearings for the wrist pin.. you are probably better off either going totally custom or with the tigerlillies than to make a set for another car work for you.

Good thinking, this is the spirit of the original hotrodders.. using what you got to make your car go faster and look better, but we have come a long way since those august days.

As for the diesel pistons in a gasoline powered car. Remember that while Diesel engines can take a LOT of cylinder pressure, you will need to knock them down in compression to work on an otto-cycle engine. Diesel's self combust from heat and pressure, that is a LOT of pressure, often times more than 13 to 1 compression BEFORE going turbo.
