Default PCV Oil/Tranny Catch Can Explaination

Could someone please explain the concept of these to me? How they work, what benefits they have, how hard installation is, where to buy, and a picture of one.
Also, what exactally is a breather filter used for and should I get one added.
Thanks for any info in advance.

check this site under intakes http://www.roadraceengineering.com/eclengine.htm
they have installs and expenations for it. They are showing it in turbo aplications but it would also keep oil out of your IM and TB. It seems (for NA applications) to be more on the line of a prevenative than anything else. I am still thinking about using one though.

I'd go for the catch tank, least it saves me the trouble of cleaning one bank of ports. Yeah I'm a lazy *******.

Thanks for the help so far.
It seems like it wouldn't do any good for a n/a car. The way they explain it it runs with a intercooler.
Let me know if I am missing something.

well if you want to no what it will do for you
pull your intake off and look at your throttle body i guarentee you will find oil and carbon build up as all engines have some amount of blow by and then clean your throttle body and see how much of a diffrence it makes
