hi. i just got my car back from getting a new flex pipe put on. the mechanic said i have a broken o2 sensor, i think around the cat he said. the old flex pipe had all that mesh wore out, but the car worked fine, just made it a bit more loud.
but since the car has had the new flex pipe, i find it idles rough when at a stop light and seems like it wants to stall a bit, but doesnt. now would this be a direct o2 sensor problem? and why didnt it do this before?

probably cause your mechanic broke the o2. lol. hence why id didnt have the problem till he fixed the exhaust.

are you getting a CEL?

tiburon354 Feb 10, 2007 08:29 AM

no cel, personally i dont even think there is a light behind the check engine, because it has never come on. definately suspicious. is the o2 sensor hard to change?

REDZMAN Feb 10, 2007 09:22 AM

That light doesn't even come on when you start the car?

tiburon354 Feb 10, 2007 10:07 AM

no check engine light has ever come on since ive owned the car.

I don't think that would be an O2 problem if you aren't getting a code.

Like Redz said, does the "Check Engine" light come on when you turn your ignition to "on". If not then you have either a blown globe or some bad wiring.

Seems like old mate mechanic has broken your O2 sensor............ mad.gif

check engine NEVER comes on. what happens if one of the sensors is broke? what would symptoms be?

xxxmonoxidechild Feb 10, 2007 11:39 AM

alot crappier gas mileage, idle would be "off"

is it a hard thing to change? or can i just jack the car up, crawl underneath, unplug the old one, and put in the new one?
