my current tib does not have cruise control. this is very bad cuz my foot is very heavy...

i was wondering if it was possible to make a vehicle have cruise control. if so, what is needed?

i'm assuming first would be a TB. then wiring it from the TB to a button in the dash... would there be anything else? how hard would it be? would it be worth it? has anyone done it? so many questions...

i need cruise!

cruise control module, cruise control switch, whatever extra is needed for the TB(dont think you need a whole new one), and a prayer that all the wiring you need is in place.

Might not be too bad if the wiring is already in place. Still a lot of parts to gather though...

Actuator

Clutch switch

Stop lamp switch

Cruise control module

Vacuum motor

Cruise main switch

Pulley assembly

Speed Control Switch

My car has an after market cruise system fitted that works fine. It was already fitted b4 I got the car, but it doesn't look hard to fit. The TB still has the single pulley and both cables go to it.

It would probably be easier with an aftermarket cruise setup. I helped install one on a motorhome and it was very straight forward.

when it comes to wiring and electrica crap... it should be hard for me. haha

i'll leave it in the back of my mind... maybe when i see another parts car on here

and i would have to completely replace the "speed control switch," right? (this is the right side thing on the steering wheel. the one w/ the wiper blades as well

who wants to do it for me tongue.gif

Most places that install alarms will also install cruise.

took cruise off one and put on another tib. np all the wireing is already set up to have it preaty much all you need to do is plug the stuff in. the tb is the biggy. by dad took and made it so the 2 moved together but every now and then one cable would slip off and the engine would just rev and rev untell it hit the limiter. had to turn it off and pop the hood to put it back on and then go on about what i was doing. we found a replacement tb though, problem fixed. but yeah. it only took him a day i think. only slow part really was console and wireing work.
if you can get a hold of wec2002 (i think is his name on here) he can tell you any and everything you would need to know. he has put in 2 cruise systems now.
