I was doing some under hood work today and noticed one of my bolts for my manifold heat shield went mia. So i deceided just to take off the shield completely. Now is this a good choice or not ? Now before you tell me to do a search i did, but with confusing results. I saw responses saying to do it and not to do it. I'm just trying to get a definitive yes or no answer. thanx in advance ! smile.gif

you car WILL overheat b/c a crappy piece of sheet metal isn't there to block heat!! JUST KIDDING. that was one of the first things i did under my hood, i think it looks nasty. but then again so is the brown color my headers are tuning... soon to be fixed tho.

^^ Yeh. Spray some PB Blaster and put a pipe over the handle of the ratchet and there shouldn't be a bolt you can't get off that you have decent access to.

As for it causing your car to overheat, nah. Your fans will probably come on more often, but its not gonna cause problems.

Cool, thanx guys ! Yeah my bolts came off real easy because i had my original manifold replaced under the recall and the dealer did the hard work for me smile.gif . I just guess they didn't tighten one good enough and it backed out and instead of it rattleing down the road i figured i would just remove it.

^^ That's what I did. Let the dealership perform the manifold recall surgery, and do the hard work. smile.gif
