Is line hone and line bore the same?

I've been calling around to a few of machine shops around my area asking for price quotes for line hone. Some shops say they only do line bore and I was wondering are they the same or 2 different processes?

a hone is just like deglazing.... a line bore is where you actualy take material out to change the bore of the cylenders

you can go over to your automotive store and get a hone and one it your self.... but the boring process you need a machine shop to do

A line hone is a very expensive computer operated machine that makes sure whatever its boring is perfectly straight and aligned with the rest of the holes. The holes being bores or cam and crank mounting surfaces. Typically if you have severe cam or crank warpation you want to get your main and cam blocks and caps line bored to make sure everything is lined up.

^+1, with the exception of "warpation"
