KORE throttle body
hey guys,
does anyone recommend the KORE throttle body? it is sized at 58mm which is not the biggest but not bad either. I am also under the impression that the biggest is not the best with the throttle body. i hear of cars bogging out due to too much air. I also hear that these BBTB's dont do much unless you do headwork, so can someone give me some reliable info? greatly appreciated.
Thanks! check out my tibby...my profile..

well, i got the big purple one from sr. it was the first mod i did to my car. after i installed it, i didn't notice any difference. perhaps, there were some kind of power gain, but i'm sure only the dyno could tell because my butt dyno couldn't. as far as getting it w/ head work...you'll see a better power gain with the bbtb/bim/headwork, but it's not worth it if this is the only mod you're doing, or if you only have the basic i/h/e upgrades. if you have a turbo, then this would help. however, i'm saving headwork for one of the last things i do, as i would rather dump money into easier upgrades (like upping the boost after i get my turbo installed) and saving this for later, since it won't yield as much power as upping the boost. to me, this is one of those "nitty gritty" things you do to complete your engine, not a starting point.
I think a BBTB would go well with I/H/E But mainly if your getting your IM bored to match. I think the IM is that recomended with the BBTB, don't know about head work. What do U mean by "head work", port and Polish?
Like was posted above a BBTB would do little for you if you dan't have mother mods.

Rojas, I've never heard of a car bogging from too much air, your ECU and MAF/MAP should sence the larger quantities of air and match the fuel flow with it. I've heard of MANY MANY people on these boards going BBTB and BIM's, with sizes up to 65MM, and never heard of any problems except difficulty getting the IM off and ONE CEL.
Go for it, get the BBTB (In my opinion, go as big as you can, it'll mean more power in the long run and less wasted money when you want to upgrade further later), and get the IM matched.
Kore offers IM machining but they still haven't returned my emails on the subject to see what all they do.
