So as the title states Im going to be installing a new cylinder. Thats jus fine and dandy and all. Well Ive looked up how to do it and everything. Got that part down. Only problem is Im getting confused when It mentions head bolts m 10 and m 12. I know the torque specs on them but which head bolts are m 10 and m 12? Thats what Im getting confused bout and hmaservice isnt really helping me much. So all of you have put on a head before, plz help! Should I keep the same head bolts or buy new ones from the dealership? Thanks in advanced.

The head bolts, the ones holding the head to the engine, are allen keyed, not hex headed. You need an allen key on a ratchet drive with an extension, or a super-long allen wrench. You will see which is what size when you get in there.

According to HyundaiTechInfo.com (the online manuals are there BTW) you can re-use your head bolts. They also have an explanation for how to torque, then rotate and rotate by degrees for final head installation.

I'd buy head studs from ARP if I were going for 400+HP

Hyundai says head bolts can be re-used. Re-use them if you feel like it. I will, when my head is done.

Thanks for the advice. Im going turbo soon and will be only pushing 8-10psi so I think I will be safe with the stock head bolts. I understand all the torqueing specs but thanks anyways with that. Jus was confused bout which bolts were what. Thanks for clearing that up.
