I had an AEM intake but decided to get a injen since it will help the car maintain normal fuel/mixture ratios since it brings in warmer air. Also with injen you dont have to worry about hydro lock. Give me your opinion on the injen intakes performance, fitment and how it held up. Does it sit far away from the components in the car so it won't get too hot, etc, does the filter stay clean or does debris splash up and get it dirty, Does it give a cel or make the car run rich, etc... does it effect fuel mileage, let me know asap so I can decide if i want injen or to put the stock box back in, i liked aem but i dont want to hydrolock. also, im going to be selling my polished aem intake with filter and all hardware to install...

IMO, injen is expensive as hell..

I Have an Aem and live in Florida. Ive never had any hydro lock problems.

I think Hydro lock is a freak accident problem.

For it to happen it has to be an epic deep puddle on the road, and if you know you have a cold air that low you shouldent be goin in it then.

If you reall worried get a dum bypass filter.

Intakes shouldent give you any cels, if you get one your doing it wrong.

Same here, I have an AEM and live in Florida where it rains everyday and have never had a problem. Just drive smart.

Also, you are going to see more HP gains coming from the AEM than you would from the Injen.

The cold air doesn't affect the afr as long as you put the iat sensor into the hole in the aem, what do you think happens when you drive in cold weather? The computer can calculate and adjust for the change as long as all your sensors are working correctly.

that is about the biggest amount of bullcrap i have ever heard in my life.

my theory is the ONLY way ANYONE will ever hydrolock their car is inattentive driving or dirving in a area that you are not personally accustomed to, simple as that.

I've read all the "hydrolock" threads over the last six months and the #1 culprit was very poor decisions in driving.

example : It's literally raining sheets of sideways rain outside but the driver decides,"shit, i gotta get to starbucks to get my coffee before work. knowing that is has rained like this all day(rain like hell for 15 minutes, then stops) he decides to chance it and boom, hits a pothole that he knew was there but forgot because he was in a hurry. true case of inattentive driving.

chalk it up to all the lame azz excuses you can muster people, but you have to drive your car differently when you have AFTERMARKET PERFORMANCE MODIFICATIONS ON YOUR CAR.

i have locked my gf's car as well and i knew i was taking a chance but truthfully i chalk it up to a stupid idea that i thought i could do it. drive your car with more brains than a sloth and you will never have problems.
