Default Injen 1st and 2nd gen Intake question.

Whats up guys got a question. The injen intake states that it will only fit 5-speeds. but when looking at the picture of it on their website it doesnt look like it would have trouble fitting on my auto-matic.

just wondering if anyone knows for sure.

heres a pic of the Injen intake

thanks

The Auto Trany sits out a bit more (closer to the front) so it would probably hit the filter all the time
BTW, this is NOT a CAI, more of a WAI, cuz the filter still sits in the engine bay.
I'd save some money and get an AOS one from Speedstate.

KayJai-

The AOS CAI puts the filter in the engine bay too, so it's not any improvement over the Injen design. If I'm not mistaken, Injen sells an extension for their CAI that puts the filter in the fenderwell.

From looking at it, you COULD use that intake with an Automatic, but I'm not sure if the extension would fit with the automatic.

Random, where did you hear about this Injen extension? I have not heard of that, but would be interested.

Random -

I know that the AOS sits in the engine bay as well, and it's a WAI.
I figure if he was gonna go with that design (Injen),... (a WAI) just get the AOS and save some cash
And the AOS works with auto as well

Heck save more cash and make a RS CAI,... or one of these :

wink

KayJai do you have a different battery tray for you batter to sit sideways like that.

I wonder if the SharkRacing CAI is going to be like that also.

KayJai CAI is actually an RSS CAI design, custom made by myself and Neo_Tib. The battery tray has another hole drilled into it so that the factory holes in the body was still used to mount the tray.

Thats the good thing with our design, it can be used with auto or manual, the only cars that have an issue with it are a-spec tibs with the fuel evap cannister. The only sacrifice that has to be made is #1 drilling a new hole, and #1 cutting into the body of the car to widen the hole to accomodate a 3" pipe. Something KayJai is not unfamiliar with wink j/k

Here are 2 more pics of my engine to show where it runs.

Warm Air Intake.LOL! I too have the AOS Intake and love it. The last time I checked heat rises, and lot of the engine department heat is generated on the top. The AOS and Injen may not be way down in the fender well, but it is still A TRUE CAI. A car cannont get HP gains sucking up warm air.
