Vehicle: 1998 Hyundai Accent
Can anyone give me a rundown of what injectors off of what cars fit the x3 fuel rail and harness, and are considered an upgrade for the motor?
also.. i've been told that accent gt dohc injectors are considered an upgrade.. but they look identical to the sohc ones. they're even both green.
is the upgrade from dohc injectors on an sohc true? or a myth?
also.. what do stock sohc injectors flow? and what do dohc ones flow?
along with any other injectors that bolt upto the x3.. what are their flowrates?
i have an SAFCII so some piggyback tuning wont be a problem. plus i have an rrfpr too.

well not sure about the accent but the tibs are 24#s if i remember correctly you can get slightly larer in the form of sonata injectors (29# if i remember right)
then there are larger like the ford motorsports 440cc green top injectors that will bolt in also
the safc is BAD to use for tuning as it only adjusts at wot and not normal driving so be careful

let me guess.. stupid TPS switch vs potentiometer switch.
in that case.. time to use the ol' mazda/ford trick.. find mysefl an automatic x3 TB and wire it in
potentiometer measures true 0-100.. not 0-50-100.
i had the same probloem with my escort.. ended up running an automatic throttlebody and wiring it into the ecu, worked like a charm.

hmm... if our tps is a potentiometer with a full 0-100 range.. then why would someone say the SAFC only tunes at WOT?
I've had no problems tuning with my SAFCII.. unless you had it tuned wrong (faith).
if you tune it right, it'll adjust under any settings.. you just have to tune your Low Th/high th points.
jongtr told me once ALONG time ago that he was experiencing the computer adjusting peramiters around the safc instead of "tricking" it in order to correct itself via the self learn
so basically when the vehicle wasnt in wot the safc wasnt working at all and he was running hella lean at times

weird.
i never had that particular problem with the escort.
maybe it's an obdII thing?
i know some ecus learn quite a bit before they get tricked.
others dont.

Yeah, the SAFCII technically works all the time, but if the readings coming back to the stock ECU aren't within parameters it'll correct for them. One downfall of a learning ECU.
As far as running one goes, it'll be better than nothing but way worse than most piggybacks even on an OBDII f/i Hyundai. I want to hook my SAFCII up, just haven't done it yet. I've seen it do a lot of good for a N/A Hyundai, and would like to see what it could do for me.

sohc injectors are 180cc's
we dont have the gt version in aus....so i wouldnt know about it
any normal length 14mm injectors will fit
apparently the dohc injectors are the longer type injector
