Hi guys.
Yesterday i serviced my car.
I did the following.

1. Replace FPR(Fuel pressure regulator)
2. Replace the Air temp sensor in air box
3. Change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, clean conical filter

After i did these i also adjusted my idle.

It ran fine and super fast compared to before the service.

Only problem i have is when im at a stop my idle drops to 500 and then rises to 1000.
During driving it has no problem...
It doesnt stumble when taking off iether.

So i want to know what could cause this?
I have replaced the TPS, IAC recently too.
I notice the car has hectic fuel smell during idle coming from exhaust..
It also seems rumbly and like a fart canister.

I guess the idle should be adjusted.
So this is how i think it should be done according to my searches.
Unplug IAC and then adjust idle using the 12mm spanner to 650-850 rpm.
Then plug in the IAC and it should bring up the idle to around 1000.
Am i correct.

1 more thing i hear there is a screw to adjust something.
Can someone tell me what is function of this screw?

Thanks

I cant remember if your car is a MAP or MAF. If its a MAF make sure you have it on correctly. Our cars run like dog poo if they are put on in reverse.

I had a similar problem. Try adjusting the idle speed with the IAC disconnected. It may be your TPS as well.

Hi guys.

Bullfrog it is MAP Based. You were on the right line though since my car has the map instead of maf.
But i fixed it by reading page 1-15 of the following search (Idle "jumping") lmao.gif

DTN as i stated the TPS was replaced recently.

It was the Vaccume pipe connecting from the intake manifold to the MAP Sensor.
That pipe got disconnected because of wear and tear so i cut the damaged tip of pipe and pushed it back it.
I would have changed it but the hyundai approved mech told me it should be same diameter hose as that will effect the vaccum.
So i should get the original one.

I also got my BBTB back(I stripped the bolts for the TPS so it was at engineering).
So i installed that with a New Cone filter.
And the car doesnt seam to run rich anymore, maybe due to more air..

The service was definately worth it!!!!
The mechanic used some cheapo oil(3000km ago) and it was shi*.
I got some Castrol 20W40 Synthetic oil.
We dont get them fancy brands here.

Anyways im a happy chap for now.

I think i overfilled the oil level.
So i get some black smoke..
Should i drain it or what?

That's good. I guess map sensors run backwards from MAF sensors. If you disconnect the MAF, it will bog down, sputter, smoke and hesitate.
