Default How many mm can I have stock TB bored out to?

I've tryed a search already for those of you who always suggest, *Have you used the Search?*

Well yes I have. I did not find the answer I was looking for.
I have a 1.5L, SOHC Accent. How many mm can I bore out the TB without loosing power. I believe the stock TB is 52mm (please correct me if I'm wrong)...so what's the limit. Anyone?!?!

Thanks all....peace

The limit you can bore it to is limited by the TB itself. I'm not sure what the limit is on the Accent TB. Onpol would probably know. I'll try to e-mail him and find out.

I wouldn't suggest going much larger that 55mm though. The Beta's seem to work best in the 58-62mm range. The accent is .5L smaller, so I would say keep it around 55mm. If you go to large, the air will slow down, and you'll loose forward velocity/momentum. Also see if they can still *trumpet* the TB. By starting large at the upstream side of the TB, then narrowing down to the TB at the butterfly, or just before.

Thanks again, Random. I'm figured that 58-52mm was a little large. I'm also considering putting a Tibby TB on. Wish I could afford BBTB
Just got to do the best with what I've got smile.gif
Peace...& thanks again all!

I appreciate all of the replies. The main reason I was interested in boring out my TB is because it cost alot less than purchasing a BBTB (I WISH) or even a used Tibby/Elanta TB.

sad.gif Only get paid once a month...so I wouldn't really be able to purchase anything until after the 1st of Aug!

Perhaps next month...

Random (or anyone for that matter) is it recommended to *bore* my existing TB?
Thanks all *(esp Random & Jaws 021~)
