I can remember reading someone's post once and it said around 155 if I can remember correctly.

So numbers seem correct, maybe a bit low

What would be recommended in order to restore some of the compression.

New rings? New head? Engine cleaner? Coolant flush?

ok how did you do your test?

when i did mine i read 180 - 190s and that is low.

factory says around 200 is where it should be

to do the test

disconnect the coil and pull the fuel pump fuse

then crank the car a few times with the tester in the chamber

do one chamber at a time

All I did was screw in the tester in the chamber.

Would that alter the results if I didn't disconnect the coil and fuel pump fuse?

well it would because its still trying to fire into the chambers plus the head is still pumping gas into it

you want to see how the engine compresses air

Ok I thought it was a bit low but apparently it's way low. Considering you have 4 cylinders which are all low it could be that you didn't do the compressio test right.

I'd say use the test setup described here ^^ above and then check the numbers again

if its low add a little oil (like a few drops that little no more than a teaspoon)

if the numbers jump you should look into some rings

everyone is right

disconnect the fuel pump, or pull the fuse

the turn on the car and let the car die on its own (so youll know the fuel lines are empty)

Next disconnect the coil pack (the harness is to the right of the coil pack towards the fire wall)

Do one cyl at a time.. keep crankin until the needle stops moving up.

Anything below 190 start checking every 2-4 weeks for changes..
Anything 190-200 not that great
Anything between 200-220 is normal ok
Anything above 220 is kick ass

Faith is right... if you get one way below.. add a bit of oil then check it.. if compression increases you got some bad rings.

If theres no change at all.. it could be a head problem (gasket, valves, seals,..ect)
