I know in 99 or so the one of the harness changed, and I can't get any elantras to show up as compatible. It is an auto

The flywheel isn't part of the transmission, so it doesn't matter. Any 97-05+ Elantra tranny will fit ANY beta engined Tiburon.

Use the flywheel you have now, and you have no worries.

110mph in 4th gear

yes, that is one of the tricks that most car makers use for making their sporty cars feel faster than the cars they are based on. You close up the ratios in box for faster acceleration. The elantra has a wider spaced gear set, as it is designed for comfortible cruising, rather than sporting intentions.

Personally. If I was going to run turbo, I would drop an elantra box into my tib. The longer ratios allow you to stay in boost longer.

Where is the best place to get part numbers for tranmissions? I really need to get an auto tranny for my 2000 tib but i am in fear of wasting money, the reason I am afraid is that car-parts.com does not say that it is swapable. ANy one that know without a doubt what all will fit please tell me.

I replaced a tranny on a tib before and I was told that all year elantras will work for a 97 tib but only 99 and down elantra trannies will fit on a 99 and below because of a wire harness beside the dip stick.
