EEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!
Hi, I drive a 1995 hyundai Elantra GLS,
I am on the works of swapping in a 4G63T into it,
problem is, I can only find two front cuts, the
first is a 1995 Eclipse GST but its automatic, the
second is a 1995 Eclipse GSX standard. i want to
buy the GSX since its standard, but Im afraid
about the engine not fitting in the engine bay
without making modifications. Should I buy that,
or should i buy the GST and get a std gearbox and
pedals(which will increase my spending a bit more)
What can you guys tell me about this? Will it fit?
Thanks.

From what I have been told/seen/researched, the AWD tranny, and drivetrain, in it's entirety, will fit under a Elantra that uses the mitsu engine. You may have to swap some rear suspension components to get everything to jive, but could end up with an AWD sleeper elantra!

No! Due to the difference in COG's (and presence of the driveshaft driving rear wheels) of the cars the mounts are altered slightly front & back(shapewise not location) on the GSX. The mounts are not similar but with some ingenuity they can be fabricated. I am not really sure about putting an AWD tranny on the GS-T, sounds like more work. Do you really need to drop the motor right away coz if I was you I would search further for a standard GS-T. The way the suspension is set up on the elantra you can not slide a drive shaft to the back wheels (without extensive mod.)

You'd have to replace the rear suspension from the elantra with the GSX parts, but the *tunnel* is there for it.

Might I also mention you not only need an AWD transmisson, but you will need
transfercase (some way to mount it)
propellor/drive shaft
new gas tank with gutter in it to make it to the rear wheels
center diff (thou mitsu might have that on the gsx)
rear diff
new rear suspension.
thou you should be able to take all the parts from mitsu.
