No they are not the sr cam , they are the bullfrog cams by gudeperformance.com . You can see it on ebay , and for my opinion i think duration of the cam is not the advertised duration , it must be the duration at 0.050 of lift , so it should be around 280 + or - advertised duration and the peak power of the cam must be around 7200 and more ...

Here is a quick break down. 1 when he is driving he doesnt have the cams installed. Watch the video and the mods section.

Anyways heres the gig. The duration is based on a circle. Never run one cam without the other in dual cam applications. Now you have the lift which isnt all that much of an issue except for possible contact with the pistons. High lift is a nice thing for improving air flow. It isnt a necessity and in most cases you souldnt run high lift cams because they dont help all that much. They move the locations of the lobes on the cam slightly changing the powerbands. The cams can either lower the powerband or raise it. Thats why you will see the 286 or 270 cams.

The loping you hear in the video is of a high lift cam which inturn causes other issues. Namely clearance, and destroying your valve springs.

Cams can either be good or bad for na or turbo. NA cams will more often than not have a lot of overlap (lopeing sounds) and lower your powerband (no need to rev to 7k.) Turbo cams have very little overlap they are better for boost and open and shut quicker.

Those cams would be bad for a turbo application. But good for what that kid was using them for. NA tune. Secondly an agressive na/turbo cam will require the ecu to be remapped. Being that you are moving around the power bands hence the major issue of runing too lean or too rich.

Most people who run turbos should keep the stock cams for the simple reason they are perfect for air flow. The more work you put into the car. high or low comp pistons will require you to run a better cam for your application. Now for the whirly gig of this all. Most of the time, you can just modify the cams (ie. cam gears) and run your applications that way. I would recomend that for people who dont know anything about cams. That way you can play with it and retard or advance your timing a few degrees + or - stock to see what you want just remeber. You can seriously break shit if you try move the timing more than 5 degrees either way and or mainly in newer vehicles cause them not to run. (MAJOR ISSUE! Your valves could say hello to your pistons and end up with some custom KDM bent valves yo!)

thanks for the in depth defintion of cams haha. i know what cams are. i was just wondering if anyone knew for personal experience if they were too radical for a turbo set up. our stock cams like many others are made for drivabilty and emissions... gas milage! im sure u can go with more radical cams for turbo, hence what redz is tryin to do with his customs and the other rpw cams for turbo.
