Cryo Treat Axles
Ok i know cryo treating is great for wear on a part but what about extra strength? dose it really help that much? If i can get my stock manual tranny axles cryoed what kind of power will they hold? Im getting new axles on both drivers and passenger side and was told to have them cryoed. would it be that helpful?
As we don't have members reaching that high, and running the track that often, there isn't a set "number" that they tend to break.
I wouldn't think stock axles would be good to 750 however. Mad John is going to snap one soon Ham thinks... but hey he's in Korea where they mess with these cars more often.
We've had a member snap one @ 350, but it might've been an older car, we don't know.

Mad John is in Korea and is pushing 630 WHP, so yeah, he knows what he's talking about.
BTW, Cryotreating does the same thing as heat treating basicly, it makes the crystaline structure in the metal change and improves strength, but loses ductility.
Shot or laser peening is a good thing, but will only really help the surface area harden.

as long as the suspension is solid the axels wont snap.. wheel hop snaps axels not the axels themselves
