i think mine is different from that, it doesnt go away. It almost seems as if i can feel the clutch disc itself spinning from my pedal. When i floor the car i smell a burning of something. i dont think it is clutch at all. I HAVE ALSO LOST A LOT OF POWER, I NEED HELP AND SUGGESTIONS FAST.

well, if it is slipping.. you are going to smell burning carbon.. not a nice smell. Very acidic smelling...

But chances are.. if the revs are not rising independant from the car's speed.. you might have a bad throwout bearing. Those generally make some whirring noises when they go.

The clutch has NOT slipped
thats sounds like it could be it. how much do they cost how hard is the installation? The revs are so much slower it is rediculous. What is this caused from? Also when is shift my revs drop low very low almost liek it is going to stall like 400-500 then once it is in gear the whole car jumps from the big difference in rpm. Any onther suggestions. This throwout bearing would cause a loss in power?

The vibrations tells of throwout bearing, but the loss of power I don't have a clue, could be something in the transmission. If you have to replace the bearing, your better off replacing the whole clutch assembly. You have to remove the transmission and pressure plate anyways. Took me 10 hours the first time and about 6 the second, but I believe someone on here stated that they have it down to 3, pratice makes perfect. The most difficult part is lining up the spline of the transmission.

My bet on the throwout bearing. Spent too much time with the clutch pedal down at stoplights I guess? tongue.gif Your going to have to drop the entire tranny.

Like said, it shouldn't cause a power loss?

UPDATE
driving to work this mourning and a huge cloud of white smoke is coming from the back of my car on the highway. The whole car filled up with smoke smoke was pouring out of my engine. I pulled over and there is tranny fluid all over the place. I can still put the car into gear and drive it though. Well this looks like it is it for my car i dont even know if its worthwhile to fix. was this the bearing?
