Default 5'' tach with shift light

I have a 2001 tib and want to put on a CAI. I have been looking at cheap ones on ebay cause it doesn't really matter that I have the good stuff like AEM cause I don't put my car in shows and I live in montana. Anyways my question is what CAI is better?

1 piece CAI?

2 piece CAI?

a one piece would be better due to possibility of air escaping the piping from where the 2 pipes connect w/ the rubber booty.

i'm not familiar w/ any of these vendors or of their intake. you may wanna read some of the feedback they have received and hope you find the same intake w/ a comment. meaning....how do you KNOW this will fit. if it's a knock off of somethin (AEM knockoff), i would try to make certain that everything fits properly. ya know!?

welcome to the boards, man.

that is a good point but personally i would get the 2 piece just because it looks way better...i dont go into shows either but i still like the look of the 2 piece.

BTW ppl dont get the AEM just cuz they go to shows, you get an AEM b/c you want the best. with an AEM you gain 6 hp overall and 8 lbs/tq overall(dyno is on their website), compared to those ebay ones you might only get 2 hp gain, so if you actually want to feel the difference i would go with the aem, but if you just want the sound, go for the $38 intake

I would like to get some performance gain but I don't think I can really afford an AEM. Looks and sound is really what I was going for. If I get the 2 piece I hope I get a HP gain a more then 2.

After this mod. do I have to recet the ECU? I'm not sure really how to fo this? Do you just warm your engine up to running temp. and then unhook the negative cable to the battery and press on the brake for 20 sec.?

You reset the ECU after EVERY mod you do.

and yeah, I'd leave it unhooked for about five mins, turn key in ignition, press brake pedal.

I also pull the Power connector in the fuse box *(under the hood)

I think I will go with the one piece CAI. Will I have any troubles with it fitting or any troubles with hooking up the sensors? By the way thanks for all the help guys.

No, you won't have any troubles at all.

Just make sure to clean all surfaces that you will be mounting the rubber connectors to with some rubbing alcohol or somethin.
