Car boggs
Everytime i start the car, i let it warm up (1-2min)
Once i get in to gear (manual) and step on the gas, begins to bogg. Basically i have to get it out of gear and let her idle-up. Even when i;m in 3rd gear, and punch it a little, she boggs. Until i hit over 3000rpm, then im fine. My CEL come on, once in awhile, then shuts off. I put in fuel injector cleaner, still nothing I went to the delarship, they said something about the oxygen sensor. Even on a long day of driving, and im in a hurry, and i punch the gas, the car dies, kinda throws you towards the wheel. Really anoying, especially when car pull beside you. lol Not sure where to start on this problem. Thanks 99 FX 144km |
Start at the oxygen sensors like the dealership said...

Ever change the fuel filter?
Ever flush your tranny and refil the fluid? Also, how about a regular tune up, wires & plugs? When's the last time? Fuel Injector cleaner should be a REGIMEN, something you do regularly. I use a can of B-12 Chemtool every 4 to 5 tanks. Keeps my car running great. And I can TELL when I need to use it too. |
Have you changed/clean your air filter?
|
did the dealer scan it?
if they did replace the o2 first |
first, do you have a CAI or is it the stock airbox?
if stock airbox o2 sensor probably defect or loose. if CAI the sensor isn't getting a good read because it doesn't fit the hole very well i had the same problem. get some jbweld. gl edit: sorry i meant the sensor that sticks into the CAI, donno what i was thinking my b... |
Umm, the O2 sensor doesn't have anything to do with the intake system. I think you're thinking of the intake air temperature sensor located in the intake air stream. The O2 sensors are located in the exhaust system. As stated above, your best bet is to deal with the problem identified by retrieving the trouble code first.

I do have the old Air box, i don't think it has anything to do with it.
I ll start with the O2 sensor |
So you have a CAI? You MIGHT want to answer all the questions above, and check the direction of your MAF.
|
Have you checked spark plugs and wires?
