I have both the UR underdrive pulley and the 1.8 intake cam installed in my car.. while I am used to it now.. the engine revs a little faster with the pulley, and the cam raises the hp and torque up a little higher in the powerband... with my CAI.. I am probably pushing a few more HP out of the car.. I also know the idle took on a deeper note..

Overall, I am satisfied with the parts..

Don't mean to steal this thread, but I am also looking at cams. For me, I'm trying to get more low/mid torque.

Mad-Machine.......is your 1.8 cam making more power in the upper end? I've had some other people say the 1.8 cam is good for the low/mid power.I've also been told that an underdrive pulley would be good for my needs.Thoughts??

Ehhh, one of the pulleys is easy to get to, the other one, wow, I can't even really see it. It's a nice kit, I'd like to install it but it looks like I'd have to take the engine out just to get to the suckas.

Besides, who knows for sure if they put anything off balance.

Come over and we'll put them on together.

LOL

no, the cam, if you look at the specs, Are a longer duration.. moved the powerband up a little. Right about 5300rpms is where it seems to peak and starts to taper off.

I attribute the idle to the cam.. as for the pulley, it just makes the engine a little less unwilling to rev.. nothing major like dropping a 7 pound flywheel in... but it does rev faster.
