whats this with the 2.0 XD cam??? ... i never heard of this before..

is it much better than the 1.8 GT cam?

i read it also improves the engine perkyness and sound better than the 1.8 GT substantially??

i think u mean the 1.8 xd cam its the same thing as the 1.8 gt cam just a different name

 

1.8 cam came in the 1.8 liter beta. Has higher lift and more duration than the 2.0 tib cam. The 2.0 xd/gt cam came in the 2.0 liter elantra gt motor. It has higher lift and more duration than the 1.8 cam. Go for the gt/xd cam if you have a 2.0 tiburon. I have it in my 2001. Never got a dyno, but I think it helped (waits for someone to tear into me) and my idle seemed a little lopier. Not much of a sound change. If you are comfortable with engine work, takes about half an hour. Otherwise, find someone who is. The actual lift/duration are posted somewhere, search for them.

 

if you have a full intake setup on your tib/elantra (CAI/BBTB/BIM) then you'll get some good benefits from the cams. Its probably the best upgrade for a tiburon sinces in only a C note and its a easy install(don't forget the 3bucks for the extra cam-journal bolts).

Nobody's dyno'ed the cams before and after, but it does give your car a kick about 3.5-4.0k rpm's, kinda like a vtec. Definetly worth it. and it keeps your warranty since its a hyundai part and you can't tell the difference just by looking at it wink
