UPDATE
2001 Elantra intake cam
Intake : 44.820 mm (1.7646 in.) 2 degrees more duration than 1.8 intake cam
Engine build codes G4GD ( newer 2.0 BetaII 2001+ Elantra), the G4GF (older 2.0L) and G4GM (older 1.8L)

I found this in a page... could be this cam better ´cause the 2 degrees ? and maybe someone can explain that they tried to say with this: Engine build codes G4GD ( newer 2.0 BetaII 2001+ Elantra), the G4GF (older 2.0L) and G4GM (older 1.8L) in this engines came the cam?

thanks

ps. cams with 264 degree duration are good? what gain could I expect with this.

thanks again.

kspec sells that cam, it and the 1.8L cam are popular upgradeds. from what i remember the GT cam (the beta II cam) causes more wear though so most people use the 1.8L cam.

Most people go with the 1.8 cam as it is supposedly the safer of the two. There are members who've had the GT cam for a while with no problems. One of the things with the GT cam is that it as a nipple on it that may effect timing.
