Ok last night while working on my tib a friend came over to the club's shop. I had the cover off the side of the engine painting it and he said to me why do't you "slip a tooth" he explained that i should move the belt on the sprocket and it would be like having an adjustable sprocket which makes sence so... if this is true has anyone done it ? How far should i move it 1 tooth? and what direction? Thx for your help guys

Default Cam Belt ?

I understand the concept but have no idea if it's valid for the Beta. I'd recommend against trying it.

better off waiting at least until someone with your exact car or engine tells you they've done it and experienced no problems... unless you wanna be the test dummy for the rest of us, mind you this could mess things up real bad possibly

if he has an adjustable cam sproket why would he even consider doing this???

That is what they are for, and his suggestion is exactly why you can only adjust them so much, (+- 10 degrees) although even w/ that adjustment if its done worng it can still f*** up your valves.

I would strongly advise against this......unless you plan on having an engine for sale that someone could rebuild ;-)
