CAI AEM bypass location question
I was reading AEM Bypass valve installation instruction and it states, "Position the Air Bypass Valve on a straight section of the inlet pipe."
The picture below shows current location of my AEM bypass valve. As you can see, one side of pipe is bent downward. So I was wondering if I should change the location of AEM valve because there is one more point where both pipe ends are straight (right beside battery but it would be really hard to squeeze the valve beside the battery.)

I see. I have one more question. I relocated the AEM bypass to the bottom (just thought that it would look better) but now the bottom pipe is crooked and does not exactly match to the pipe coming from the engine. I can still put the blue connector but there is space between these two pipes. So do end of pipes have to exactly match each other for optimal performance? Or is it OK to leave the space between two pipes and let the connector cover the area?

there's a problem to begin with by you putting the valve so down on the bottom, it's prolly not protected as much from water, that will totally kill it's effect... I'm sorry I thought you meant to put it just a little further down as the MHP CAI, but not that far down, and as far as the pipes not matching, you are in a way cutting the good air flow by doing that, since it's not air passing directly from pipe to pipe, remember the silicone hoses are there just to keep air from escaping and to keep the 2 pipes together, as soon as you start using it as an extra piece of piping you kill the effect of the pipes... I don't know if I explained myself good, sorry...
I see. I should play around more with those pipes to get them fit properly. My current location of AEM air bypass is right between the battery and fan. I think that is an ideal location. Isn't it?

For the AEM unit to work right, it must be in a horizonal section of pipe, and it must be at the same level (or as close as possible) to the level of the TB itself. Keep it as it was in the photo above, and you should be fine.
