Default Bored throttle body

I was just wondering, if i were to installed a sharkracing big bore throttle body would i still get any gains w/ out a bored out intake manifold? I plan on gettin the manifold bored out but once i find a good shop, not many shops around here. Thanx.

i ordered a throttle body...never got it. i got charged, but i never got it. im working it out with sr. damn.

You can always send your intake manifold to Onpol. He does a great job boring out IM.

I got done installing the throttle body a few days ago...and thats all i did, just strapped on the TB, and you can feel a definate difference, can't wait until i port and match/polish the IM...itll be a beautiful sight i think...

Yeah, you'll get some gains, but not as much. The springs are stiffer and the plate is bigger so the throttle response will be more crisp.

It's hard to say how much you'll get because the poeple who can afford to dyno before and after usually choose to do both at the same time.

i noted a difference in my 1/4 mi time. i went from a 16.93@81 mph down to 16.64@83 mph. i still have a wall at about 4000 rpm's. small price to pay for just a little extra oomph, though.

Who is Onpol? First I thought Onpol was a company..is this guy a person? If so, why is he referred to god of bored TB/IM? And how much does he charge?

yes onpol is a person. however, i've always wanted to ask...if you bought the big bore throttle body from sr, could he bore it out even more? just a thought

He could but there would be no point. I think 59-61mm is the most functional throttle body size for our cars. Smaller than that, you won't get any gain. Bigger than that size, you won't see much difference from 59-61mm throttle body.
